in 1-1,the event took place in japan,

Second meeting was on june 3 2014 japan won 3-1 away although codta rica had a good squaed but japan went on with no mercy at all

They played again on september 11 2018 and japan won massively 3-0 and this shows how japan improved in a few years.

And the japan played against costa rica on 27 november 2022 and costa rica won 1-0,it is during fifa world cup,right after japan won 2-1 against german
